I read this book like five times when I was younger

Die Grundidee des Buches ist sicher spannend -- sowohl von der Philosophie eines überzeugten Kapitalismus als auch von der des Streiks all derer, die in der Ausübung desselben gehindert werden. Leider lässt das Buch dafür, dass es ca 1200 Seiten hat, zu viele Details ungeklärt: Es gibt nur Personen, die ganz der Grundidee zugeneigt (und dann gleich halbgottgleich in Intelligenz, Verhalten und Statur sind) oder ganz ihrem total entgegengesetzten Unverhalten verfallen sind (die alle bemittleidenswert und "schleimig" daher kommen). Die vielen Grau-Schattierungen dazwischen sowie der "Pöbel" (nur Personen ab einem bestimmten sozialen Status werden eingehend betrachtet) werden ausgeblendet. Dass die Beschwörungsformel der "Bösen" ("I could not help it") auf manche Menschen tatsächlich zutreffen (bspw. Behinderte), scheint völlig undenkbar. Man hätte sicher vieles an Handlung und Philosophierens (ein bspw. ein drei-Stunden-Monolog, der nochmal weitschweifig am Ende der Triologie die Philosophie zusammenfasst) kürzer halten können -- das liegt aber vermutlich auch an einem anderen Stil des Erscheinungsjahres und der sehr philosophischen Schule der Autorin. Insgesamt ein in der Handlung unterhaltsamer und in der dahinterliegenden Philosophie interessante Denkanstöße setzender Roman.
