fiction, Novel by André Aciman

Blurb

Andre Aciman's Call Me by Your Name is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents’ cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. Each is unprepared for the consequences of their attraction, when, during the restless summer weeks, unrelenting currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion and test the charged ground between them. Recklessly, the two verge toward the one thing both fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy. It is an instant classic and one of the great love stories of our time.

A dreamy, sensual and heartwarming tale of summer romance. Set in the Italian 70's near a costal town, it depicts the story of the young Elio and older Oliver's slow burning summer love. Looming with the threat of Oliver's return home come the end of the summer the two grapple with love, lust jealousy, and the question of whether each one really likes the other... With sustained references of artists and philosophers throughout, this beautifully crafted book is vivid and well imagined, from Elio playing classic music that drifts through the seaside villa, to the detailed and loving description of Oliver's features. This book is well worth picking up, and was near impossible to put down.
