The Jupiter Effect was a best-selling book by John Gribbin, Ph.D., and Stephen Plagemann, published in 1974, which predicted that an alignment of the planets of the Solar System would create a number of catastrophes, including a great earthquake on the San Andreas Fault, on March 10, 1982. The predicted catastrophes did not occur.
