Resumen
La Tierra se ve amenazada por los insectores, una raza extraterrestre completamente ajena a los humanos, a los que pretende destruir. Para vencer a los insectores es necesario un nuevo tipo de genio militar, y por ello se ha permitido el nacimiento de Ender, quien en cierta forma constituye una anomalía viviente: es el terc er hijo de una pareja en un mundo que ha limitado estrictamente a dos el número de descendientes. El niño Ender deberá aprender todo lo relativo a la guerra en los videojuegos y en los peligrosos ensayos de batallas que realiza con sus compañeros. A la habilidad en el tratamiento de las emociones, ya característica de Orson Scott Card, se une en este libro el interés por el empleo de las simulaciones de ordenador y juegos de fantasía en la formación militar, estratégica y psicológica del protagonista. El juego de Ender, la novela más conocida de Orson Scott Card, obtuvo los dos premios más prestigiosos de la ciencia ficción: el Nebula a la mejor novela en 1985 y el Hugo a la mejor novela en 1986.

I rate this book as a 10; not because of the dialogue or the characters (who piss me off from time to time), or plot points or plot twists, but simply because it's one of the most unique stories I've ever read. I wanted to like it and it lived up to the hype. The story is not told how traditional stories are told. There is an exceedingly large exposition with lots of character development which you then have to have a firm understanding of in order to get the wrap up. The final parts are almost self told and filled in by what you know about the characters and only makes sense because of what we know. This in effect goes to shorten the whole novel by filling in the ending yourself and this approach did not really have any drawbacks and the story still felt full and fleshed out. As far as art styles go this was a 10/10. As far as complex ideas or new thoughts being brought to the table ... not so much // start for the adventure, stay for the art, and don't worry about the lack of narrator insight or commentary onto human relations or the nature of the universe state p

Fesselnd. Ich konnte es nicht weglegen. Ich kann gut verstehen, warum dieses Buch viele Leute inspiriert hat. Beim Vorwort des Autors hat mit gut gefallen, die Geschichte des Buches umrissen zu bekommen.
