Günter Grass

The Flounder is a 1977 novel by the German writer Günter Grass. It is loosely based on the fairy tale The Fisherman and His Wife.

The Call of the Toad, published in Germany in 1992 as Unkenrufe, is a novel by Danzig-born German author Günter Grass. It describes the love story between the German widower Alexander Reschke and Alexandra Polin widowed Piatkowska. It was adapted into a 2005 film directed by Robert Gliński.

Local Anaesthetic is a 1969 novel by the German writer Günter Grass. It tells the story of an idealistic high-school teacher who believes society, like a pupil, is learning from experience and reason.
