The evel creatures are accidentaly released from their silver coffin and start to terrorize the new lands, using their Satan-given, X-Men like powers, while a league formed by scientist, treasure-hunters and the military struggle to stop them and prevent Brazil to become their new dark kingdom.
The text is not exaclty well written, but the story is surprisingly fast paced and attractive. The reader never gets bored with the situations created when the vampires start to understand the new world where they were woke up and decide to rule again, far away from the margins of the D'Oro river.
This is the first chapter of the Vampires of the D'Oro River duology, that is concluded in Setimo.
It's a great surprise to see a brazilian author writing about vampires. This particular one was a really good surprise, since the story is nice.
The author writing style needs to be improved, but his ideas and the situations created with the descovery of seven un-dead creatures near the Rio Grando do Sul coast created the opportunity to some nice action sequences and some funny moments, when the evil creatures start to try to keep up after centuries in a silver coffin.
The seven vampires resemble the X-Men, so it's a kind of a evil version of the beloved characters, with big fangs. To the ones who love the Xavier's pupils, this makes the experience of reading this book even better.
The follow-up, Setimo, manages to be supperior to this one!
