Ellie's friend Humphrey is being sent away to stay with his Aunt Elspeth for the summer. Ellie hides in their car boot with two dogs that are so big, Ellie thinks they are wolves. Aunt Elspeth has to drive Ellie home again but one of her dogs has puppies so they all stay at Humphrey's after all.
